Workshop Formats

There are two formats. The first is a one-day, three-hour introduction to the concept of documenting personal and family history. This includes a power point presentation and video samples of various types of productions. You will discover:

• How to decide on the type of project you want to create
• Things to consider before you begin
• Tips on organizing a lifetime of photos
• Tools that will help you find historical and period-related media
• Where to have 8mm & other media transferred
• Valuable reviews of video and photo editing software
• Video samples of various types of productions

The second format includes all of the above but in much more detail - Plus you will learn how to:

• Evaluate your electronic equipment
• Customize interview questions
• Develop an interview outline
• Compose and frame a shot
• Conduct an interview
• Scan and label photos for import into your video editing program
• Options for editing your project and where to find help in your community to complete your project

Workshop Locations

 I am willing to travel 25 miles to present a workshop in your neighborhood – Any farther and you would have to pay my travel expenses.

• Cabrillo College, Aptos, CA
• Santa Cruz City Parks
• Community Television of Santa Cruz County

Costs:

I prefer no more than 15 people per workshop.

Private parties $150.00 for one 2-3-hour workshop

Fees vary from $35 - $65 per person if the workshops are presented in a public venue.
